Not the best photo in the world (phone still did pretty well, I think), but just thought I'd post this pic from a recent night drive. I've read on forums how some people assume that the Land Rover may not illuminate the road sides adequately, I'm guessing perhaps due to the headlights being somewhat "enclosed" by the wings, and close together, but I have always found the lights (original type, but new- no halogen bulbs or anything), to do a very good job, almost as good as any modern car. I would drive anywhere at night with confidence.
In the photo, we're just approaching the top of a hill, but farther away objects are still being lit, and the roadsides are well illuminated. High beam or low beam, both do their job.
This is just a simple pictorial history of my restoration of an original Canadian-import 1960 Land Rover Series 2 88" (or SWB - Short Wheel Base), LHD (Left Hand Drive) which I purchased in August, 2010. Later posts include photos of some of the things I've done with the vehicle since its restoration was essentially completed, although repairs and other maintenance are obviously an ongoing process. More Fresh Air
Tried driving with the catflap open again, this time with all vents and windows open, and I think someone was happy for that. :)
