(A fume curtain of some sort would have been better, actually, as driving with the rear 'catflap' open sucked in quite a bit of the exhaust fumes - but next time I'll just remember to open the front vents as well as the windows, too....)
This is just a simple pictorial history of my restoration of an original Canadian-import 1960 Land Rover Series 2 88" (or SWB - Short Wheel Base), LHD (Left Hand Drive) which I purchased in August, 2010. Later posts include photos of some of the things I've done with the vehicle since its restoration was essentially completed, although repairs and other maintenance are obviously an ongoing process. Summer Ride
Such a nice day, left the office at lunch for a drive and took the dog, who loved the view out the rear, with me. What could be better?

Looks like fun :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how many fumes are sucked in the back, I had to drive 120 miles once with no rear door on the back of a 109" hard top and I nearly gassed myself. I also found that opening the vent flaps and taking the door tops off kept the fumes at bay.
Good to know it can be done! I'll have to do that too, next time. One day It'd be nice just to have the roof off altogether on nice days....
